In Nyvangs garden for medicinal plants we like to illustrate and tell stories about some of the plants, that were used for medicine around the 1940’s.
You find 19 selected plants from the pharmacy’s officially recogized lists of medicines and their ingredients from around the 1940’s. Specifically, we have used Pharmacopeae Danica 1933 and 1948.
The plants could be purchased at the pharmacies as drugs (dried plant parts), or they were included as ingredients in medicines. Take at look into Nyvangs pharmacy, where you find a laboratory with much of the equipment used to manufacture medicines containing plant parts.
Nature is a resource that can give both researchers and the rest of us new ideas in the future.
